Ladakh

well we went on this trans-himalayan trip .....it was filled with misfortune,
adventure, hardship, brownish empty landscape and a running nose, all the
ingredients of a western movie;).
personally I feel fcuked. but no denying it was mindblowing,
crossing Ladakh on a rundown, old, battered Enfield, riding 450km
of barren, naked, at times frightening landscape, going over three
mighty 5000m(altitude) passes is no laughing matter.

There is one thing that Ladakh Himalaya is different from all the
others I have visited, the Kumaon,Garhwal, the Pir Panjal, the Sikkim
Himalaya, the Shivaliks, its so barren, so cruelly beautiful,
scattered strange rock formations and mighty ranges adorned with bright
colors so devoid of human habitation, yet having that mysterious touch
it seems one has stepped back into a past civilization, best of all the
panorama, the eye can see as far as the horizon it seems, over huge plains
across canyons, valleys and till the farthest mountains.phew!

one thing is sure, India encompasses everything, why go see the White Alps
when we have much grander peaks that inspire more awe, why go see the Swiss
Alps when we have the exceedingly lovely mountains full of picturesque
greenery, amazing waterfalls, delicate water streams in Himachal, why go
to see the Italian Alps when we have Dolomites on route to Leh, why see
the Grand Canyon when we have similar rock formations in Ladakh Trans-himalaya.
wish I was a photographer, anyway my friend is one and if anybody is
interested in watching then pls visit the foll site:

ps: btw pls dont get me wrong when I compare the Alps and the Grand
Canyon, its you know, a kinda compliment, ofcourse you cant beat the
original. Also have never been there, so cant judge, but trust me the
sight of the Ladakh Trans-Himalaya is awe-inspiring!
